Phantom Gallery Exhibition Documentation

In order to protect them from imminent air raids many works of art from Aachen were brought to the Albrechtsburg in Meissen near Dresden in 1942; including those that had been stored in the Bückeburg – 50 km west of Hannover – before. A selection of photographs and drawings give an impression of the storage rooms.
The other photographs show former interiors of the Suermondt- and the Couven-Museum with some of the lost paintings.
